A walk in nature
A walk in nature walks the soul back home
- Mary Davis
I grumble as the alarms goes off and my husband wakes me up. We get ready, do some stretching, tie our shoe laces and we’re off. Our path is not fixed, the aim- walk for 60 minutes. We discover new walking trails and paths; we even sometimes walk along the roads in the shade of the trees.
We moved recently and were blessed to have a nature park right behind our apartment building. This meant that our morning walks just went up a notch. That and add to it the perfect summer weather — that right there is worth waking up for.
It was these walks that cleared out my cluttered mind and gave me the clarity to start writing here. This park is basically — A Cornucopia of life. The trees and the woods, teeming with birds, animals and insects plus a huge lake is a beauty. We still haven’t been to every nook and cranny of this park and I’m sure we will continue exploring as the months go by before the winter sets in. ( We may still go in winter for the change in landscape, who knows !)
Looking at the pair of ducks that just started a family , fat snails coming out of the mud in the morning, birds chirping and feasting on the worms and bees buzzing about in the distance is very refreshing. It just wipes out the previous day from my mind and gives me a fresh slate to start planning the new day. I’m instantly filled with new hopes and cheer.
